Fall 2012

Posted on August 26, 2012 at 6:10 PM Comments comments (0)

Welcome Fall 2012 students!

If you're registered for one of my courses this semester, please visit the Titanium site for the course. There you'll find the syllabus, course documents, and other great information you'll need for the entire semester.

My first-day class meetings are generally short and primarily consist of introductions, going over the syllabus, taking roll, and explaining how to use the Titanium site.

If you're enrolled in my Television and American Culture class, the books for the course can be purchased at the Little Professor Book Center. Click here to access information on the location of the store.

If you're enrolled in my Introduction to American Popular Culture course, the readings are all available online in PDF format on the Titanium course website. The first two readings are available here in the "Articles" section of this website for those of you who are hoping to add. Be sure to take a look at the reading quesitons for those two articles as well. We'll be going over them at our second class meeting.

I look forward to meeting you all and starting another exciting semester.

Going Back to Cali as a PhD

I'm proud to announce that I've submitted my dissertation and passed my defense. I'm a full fledged PhD. I've taught college courses since early 2005, but it will feel very nice to see "Dr. Falero" on the top of the syllabus!

Going back to California for the dissertation defense was full of wonderful things, including the possibility of returning. When it becomes a reality, I'll be sure to post it here, but there is the likelihood of teaching again on the horizon, and for that (and many other things) I am grateful.

Stay tuned!

Leaving for Philadelphia

Now that the Spring 2010 semester has come to a close, I am happy to say that I will be moving to Philadelphia this June. I enjoyed my years at CSU Fullerton, they were truly, very rewarding. The students, faculty, and staff helped me grow and enjoy life as a teaching professor. I can't think of a better job to have. I only hope that wherever I end up, I continue to have as much joy for teaching as I did in Fullerton.

Moving to Philadelphia!

Well folks, it looks like I'm going to say goodbye to sunny southern California. I'm moving to Philadelphia in the summer of 2010 and will be looking for adjunct positions asap. If you hear anything about job openings in academic circles, clue me in!

To all my new students, welcome to my professional website. Most of our course materials are on the class Blackboard site, but I do occasionally post here. This is also where I would post if there were any problems on the campus server. Take a look around and let me know if you have any questions!

Thanks

Last Day to Turn in Rough Drafts!!

Posted on April 19, 2009 at 5:45 PM Comments comments (0)

Monday April 20th is the last day for students in my Pop Culture courses to turn in rough drafts of the Analytical Essay. Rough Drafts are not required, but if you didn't do as well as you had hoped on the Midterm, a rough draft is highly recommended. Be sure to get them in by 5pm. Send email submissions to my campus email address.
